Client details61 words

Client name / initials: Jk

Client level: Beginner

Session number: 1

Date: 2026-07-05

Session duration: 25 minutes

Equipment needed: Reformer, variety of spring tensions, box, anti slip pads

Session goals: A strength and flexibility session with improving the clients alignment and confidence of using the reformer.

Health screening notes: The client had a tight hamstring and tight calves. No current injuries.

WARM-UP (5–10 minutes)33 words

Modifications & adaptations for warm-up: The spring tension could be varied based on the clients needs. When the client is completing the walking and running series a modification could be a smaller range.

MAIN WORK (30–40 minutes)114 words

Exercise selection & sequencing rationale: The first sequence the client will be completing is a supine arm series. This series will increase strength and endurance in the upper limbs and abdominals. Then the client will get off the carriage and do lunges, scooters and abductor. This series will increase strength and endurance of lower limbs. The client will then return to the carriage and complete a back rowing series which will increase strength and endurance of the upper limbs, scapular and mid back muscles. This will ensure the client will have a full body workout. The client will change springs approximately only 3 times during this which will help the flow of the class.

Client feedback & session notes56 words

Client feedback: The client was happy with how the session went. The client enjoyed the footwork and said it helped him to stretch his calves. The client could feel his abs working with completing the supine arm series. The client felt the lunges in his quad and glutes. Very positive feedback was given from the client.

Instructor reflection89 words

Reflection: I was happy with how the class went but at times I felt I rushed the breath work and this is something I aim to improve at. I was happy with how I met the needs of the client. There was a good flow to the class and the client achieved a lot in the session. I was happy with the modifications I put in place for the client. Overall I learned a lot from this class and I hope to further develop my cueing and breath work.

Next session planning57 words

Next session focus: In the next session id like to teach different series from the repertoire to help build my confidence and ability of cueing different series. I’d like to teach the front rowing series and the mermaid series. I’d like to offer multiple adaptations to clients which would be very helpful in a mixed level class.
