Client details39 words

Client name / initials: NH

Client level: Improver

Session number: 3

Date: 2026-07-06

Session duration: 45 minutes

Equipment needed: Reformer

Session goals: Build confidence on the reformer & build core engagement and stability.

Health screening notes: No current injuries

WARM-UP (5–10 minutes)43 words

Modifications & adaptations for warm-up: Reduce springs for the client where needed
Regression for Pilares V - retutn to double leg press
Regression for single leg press - bend free leg
Progression - free leg in table top or extended towards the ceiling

MAIN WORK (30–40 minutes)71 words

Exercise selection & sequencing rationale: The Supine Arms flows nicely from the footwork as the client is already supine. It helps them become familiar with a new element of the reformer (the straps) & helps build their confidence. The supine arms & the core work directly contribute to their goal of core stability. The standing lunge series introduces a new movement pattern and breaks up time spent lying on the reformer.

Client felt their core engaged during footwork especially after preparing with breathwork & pelvic tilt.
Client struggled to find engagement with adductors.

Instructor reflection59 words

Reflection: Warm Up & Cool Down went well. The client felt confident during these exercises and felt they could focus on their core engagement during these exercises.
My cueing during legs in straps was effective clear and concise.
I would have spent more time on lunges ensuring the client felt comfortable, they were unstable and inclined to hinge forward.

Next session planning46 words

Next session focus: Continue to introduce the client to more exercises.
Develop core stability and neutral spine in standing, client hinged through the hip alot during lunges and adduction.
Introduce ball or ring during lunges to encourage client to keep chest open and up during lunges.
