Class name / level: Beginner

Date: 2026-07-04

Class duration: 45 minutes

Number of participants: 6

Target level: Improver

Class goals: A full body strength and mobility class.

Equipment setup: 10 reformers in rows of 5. The clients will have all springs on and the football up to start. The box will be placed safely at the back of the reformer.

Special considerations: New clients. Will ask the clients if there are any injuries they would like to disclose privately. Modifications will be given to clients.

WARM-UP (5–10 minutes)73 words

Class management notes for warm-up: The reformers will have the football up and all 4 springs on. I will walk around the room to ensure that the clients have good alignment and are completing the exercises correctly. I will demonstrate the exercises at the top of the room so all clients can see. I will use visual, verbal and tactile cues. The spring tension can be modified based on the needs of clients.

MAIN WORK (30–40 minutes)109 words

Class flow & transition notes: The first 3 exercises will be completed with the client in tabletop position. Then the client will complete the lunge series. Once this is completed the client will face the straps and complete the last 3 exercises. There will be approximately only 3 spring changes during the session.

Individual attention strategy: I will ensure that the clients are demonstrating the correct table top position. I will provide encouragement to the clients when completing the standing leg series. I will circulate the room throughout to ensure clients have correct alignment. I will provide individual corrections if needed when clients are completing the back rowing series.

Class management notes42 words

Management notes: The transitions went very well. There were no safety concerns and I effectively discussed the safety on the reformer at the beginning of the class. The flow of the class went well. The energy of the room was very positive.

Instructor reflection60 words

Reflection: I was happy with how the class went. I would have preferred if I had used more visual cues for the learners. I had a good presence in the class and I ensured all clients had good alignment and were completing the exercises correctly. I achieved the class goals. Going forward I will continue to develop my cueing skills.

Future planning24 words

Future class focus: My main focus will be providing more visual cues. I will also teach different exercises to become confident teaching different classes.
