- Demonstration was really good and clear (New clients had no issue with following routine)
- Really positive feedback from class

Reflection: what would I do differently?: - Change one or two exercises, the knee bend stretch did not fit into the flow of the class that I wanted (In core section). Clients had to put feet in straps and it felt like it didn't fit in
- Re analyze spring tension for some movements to make it more challenging

- Tactile cues can really help newer clients, slight adjustments can really help
- Really improving my tone, projection & confidence in classes
- The time flies when you are running a class

Reflection: what would I do differently?: - Spring tension understanding, I tried to make it challenging for clients rather than the correct spring tension. Noted for further iterations
- It was a class that are used to training with the same reformers coach, I would like to have known the type of class he uses as I feel it might have been intense for the clientele I was working with

Teaching Practice Session 7329 words

Date: 2026-07-30

Duration: 50 miuinte

Location: BWELL FITNESS STUDIO

Client name / initials: Group

Client level: Mixed

Session goals: To deliver a full-body intermediate session that built progressively from warm-up through to cool-down. I wanted to focus on posterior chain strength in the bridging block, core stability in the supine series, and challenge balance and unilateral control in the standing work — finishing with a quiet cool-down to stretch out the hips and spine.

What I taught (exercises & sequence): Warm-Up (0–5 min): Breathing in neutral spine, Pelvic Tilt, Arm Reaches · Footwork (5–12 min): Double Leg Press Heels & Toes, Wide Heels & Toes, Running, Calf Raises — progressed to single leg on round 2 · Bridging (12–18 min): Articulated Bridge, Bridge Marching, Single Leg Bridge · Core (18–26 min): Tricep Press, T Arms, Arm Circles in table-top, Hundred, Coordination, Heel Beats · Arms (26–34 min): Chest Expansion, Bicep Curl, Hug, Salute, Tricep Press · Hips (34–42 min): Squats, Skaters, Scooter, Standing Lunges · Integration (42–47 min): Elephant, Long Stretch, Double Arm Press, Sit Ups · Cool-Down (47–50 min): Leg Circles, Short Spine, Legs Open & Close, Legs Bend & Stretch, Closing Breath

What I noticed about my teaching: The core block cue "move the limbs without changing the trunk" worked really well — clients responded to it straight away. Skaters needed an extra cue around hip position before it clicked. The ball in the arms block was a good addition — it helped clients connect through their core. The cool-down felt a bit rushed, clients were only just settling when time was u

Reflection: what would I do differently?: Change: Give the cool-down more time — 3 minutes wasn't quite enough after the standing series. I'd trim a set from the arms block to free up the space. · Keep: The two-round footwork approach with the single-leg progression — it set a solid foundation for the rest of the class

Duration: 30 minutes

Session goals: To work through a progressive 1-2-1 intermediate session focusing on lower body activation, core stability and hip mobility. I wanted to take time with the footwork to establish good alignment early, then build into supine arm work and feet in straps before moving into bridging and posterior chain loading.

What I taught (exercises & sequence): Double Leg Press Arches & Toes, Walking, Running, Single Leg Press · Supine Arms: Arm Arcs, The Hundred, Tricep Press, Coordination · Feet in Straps: Legs Bend & Stretch, Frogs, Leg Circles, Hamstring Stretch, Short Spine · Bridging: Pelvic Tilt, Bridge, Bridge with Marching — got to roughly halfway through the plan before time was up (Exam session)

What I noticed about my teaching: The footwork series set a good tone - taking time there meant the client was well-connected before the harder work. The Hundred needed a regression cue around leg height. Feet in straps took longer than expected, particularly the Hamstring Stretch where the client needed some extra attention. Bridging was going well when we ran out of time.

Reflection: what would I do differently?: Tighten up the feet in straps block - I spent too long there which meant we didn't get to the rowing or plank series. I'd set a clearer time target for each block going forward. · Keep: Spending quality time in the footwork — the client's alignment improved noticeably by the end of it and carried through into the rest of the session.

Teaching Practice Session 9309 words

Date: 2026-07-05

Duration: 30 min

Location: BWELL FITNESS STUDIO

Client name / initials: Pilates June Group

Client level: Improve

Session goals: To take a mixed intermediate group through a progressive full-body reformer session, building from footwork through to bridging. The aim was to establish good alignment and connection early in the footwork series, then challenge the group through supine arm work, feet in straps and posterior chain loading —keeping the energy consistent while managing different levels across the class.

What I taught (exercises & sequence): Warm-Up: Double Leg Press Arches & Toes, Walking, Running, Single Leg Press · Supine Arms: Arm Arcs, The Hundred, Tricep Press, Coordination · Feet in Straps: Legs Bend & Stretch, Frogs, Leg Circles, Hamstring Stretch, Short Spine · Bridging: Pelvic Tilt, Bridge, Bridge with Marching — covered roughly the first half of the programme before time was up

What I noticed about my teaching: Managing different levels in the footwork was the biggest challenge — a couple of clients needed regression cues while others were ready to progress to single leg. The Hundred needed a clear split offered early — some went to Hundred Prep while stronger clients extended their legs. Feet in straps took longer than planned as I was moving around the room checking alignment. Bridging was well received across the group and felt like a natural endpoint for the time available.

Reflection: what would I do differently?: Offer progressions and regressions more proactively at the start of each block rather than reacting to what I was seeing — it would have kept the flow cleaner and reduced the time lost correcting individually. · Keep: The footwork as a warm-up foundation — it gave me a good read of the group's level early on and helped me pitch the rest of the session appropriately.

Session goals: Warm-Up: Double Leg Press Heels & Toes, Wide Heels, Running, Calf Raises · Supine Arms: Arm Arcs, Arm Circles, Tricep Press · Back Rowing: Chest Expansion, Bicep Curl, Low Row, High Row, Alternating Row · Short Box: Round Back, Flat Back, Spine Twist · Standing Series: Squats, Scooter, Skaters · Cool-Down: Leg Circles, Legs Bend & Stretch, Short Spine, Closing Breath

What I taught (exercises & sequence): Warm-Up: Double Leg Press Heels & Toes, Wide Heels, Running, Calf Raises · Supine Arms: Arm Arcs, Arm Circles, Tricep Press · Back Rowing: Chest Expansion, Bicep Curl, Low Row, High Row, Alternating Row · Short Box: Round Back, Flat Back, Spine Twist · Standing Series: Squats, Scooter, Skaters · Cool-Down: Leg Circles, Legs Bend & Stretch, Short Spine, Closing Breath

What I noticed about my teaching: The rowing series was the strongest block — the client responded well to the scapular cues and form held up across all five exercises. Spine Twist on the short box needed more setup time than I gave it, the client wasn't quite sure of the position initially. The standing series felt slightly rushed going into it as the rowing block ran a little over. The closing breath felt well-timed and the client finished in a calm, settled place.

Reflection: what would I do differently?: Change: Give more time to setting up the short box position before moving — a clearer demo at the start would have saved time correcting mid-exercise. · Keep: The rowing series as the main strength block — it worked really well in this session and the client left with noticeably better posture than when they arrived.
