Food Diary Assessment346 words

Praise / continue:
• Calorie consumption in line with client goals → Keep the calorie intake as is but make more targetted use of food choices to aid their lifestyle and exercise programme. (Client is in general eating within tolerances of TDEE to create a deficit to loose weight which is one of their goals.)
• Generally balanced diet, → Increase the ratio of fuel sources to match their training requirements. (Looking at the carbohydrate/ fats/ protein intake to maximse the benefits of their traing regime..)
• Exercising regularly → Increase the variety of training to maximise results. (Regular exercise burns calories and targeted resistance training tones up the body.)

Minor modifications:
• Increase water consumption → Increase water consumption to at least 2.7 litres a day (Minimum requirement for hydration for a woman is 2.7 litres per day, at present client is not meeting this requirement.)
• snacking on digestive biscuits as a snack → Replace biscuits with a more nutriental option (Better nutriental benefits for the client.)
• Having Ice cream regularly as a desert → Replace ice cream with a healthier option. (Replacing ice cream with a product like greek yogurt can provide a food which is a good supply of protein and improves the nutriental value of the meal.)

Complete changes:
• Midmorning snack taken during working week → Reduce the calorific size of the snack and increase the size of breakfast. (Client takes exercise after breakfast and needs the fuel whilst inwork they are not as active and will not burn the calories at this time.)
• Bedtime → Go to bed between 10:00-10:30pm (Maximise the recovery aftre workouts and give the body time to recuperate.)
• Cardiovascular activity → Increase cardiovascular activity during the week. (Increasing cardiovscular activity will help with weight loss and improve fitness levels.)

Overall summary & next steps: 1) Weight loss - monitored by weeky weigh ins
2) Toning up - body measurements taken every week
3)Resistance training progression - increase in strength measured by improvrmrnt in one rep max, check after 3 and 6 weeks.
