Block Overview63 words
Class Focus: Dynamic Integration through full-body coordination, core stability, balance challenge, spinal articulation and controlled movement patterns. The class focuses on linking breath, centre and movement while developing strength, mobility, postural awareness and functional movement control.
Duration: 55 minutes
Key Exercises: Pelvic Curl Prep, Shoulder Bridge, Single Straight Leg Stretch, Double Leg Lower, Side Plank Prep, Swimming, Spine Stretch Forward, Standing Roll Down.
My Goals112 words
The goal of this class is to improve full-body integration by encouraging participants to move with control, precision and flow while maintaining core engagement and optimal alignment.
Participants will develop greater awareness of neutral pelvis, lateral breathing and deep abdominal activation before progressing into dynamic movements that challenge stability, balance and coordination.
Throughout the class I will provide regressions and progressions to accommodate different abilities while ensuring safe and effective movement patterns. Emphasis will be placed on breath control, spinal articulation, postural alignment, concentration and smooth transitions between exercises.
The overall aim is to leave participants feeling stronger, more balanced, more mobile and more connected to their bodies through the Pilates principles.

Block Name: Core Strength, Mobility & Stability Flow
Class Duration (mins): 55
Focus: Core Strength, Spinal Mobility & Hip Stability
Goals & Pilates Principles62 words
Class Principles: Breathe, Centre, Concentration, Control, Precision, Flow
Class Focus: This class is built on all six Pilates principles with particular emphasis on breathing, centering, control and flow. The exercises progress logically from foundational pre-Pilates movements into more challenging core, spinal mobility and hip stability exercises. Modifications and progressions are provided throughout to ensure accessibility while maintaining challenge for more advanced participants.
Warm-Up
| Exercise | Reps | Cues | Modifications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lateral Breathing | 6 breaths | Breathe into the sides and back of the ribcage. Exhale gently through pursed lips and feel the abdominals draw inward. | Hands on ribs |
| Pelvic tilts | 8 | Imagine your pelvis is a bowl of water gently tipping forwards and backwards | Smaller range |
| Knee Folds | 8 each side | Keep the pelvis completely still as the leg floats. | Reduce range |
| Pelvic Curl | 8 | Peel the spine away from the mat one vertebra at a time. | Small bridge |
Main Phase
| Exercise | Reps | Cues | Modifications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shoulder Bridge | 8 | Lift through hips with control, articulate spine, maintain neutral knee alignment, engage glutes and hamstrings | Smaller bridge, feet closer to hips |
| Chest Lift | 8 | Lift from the sternum rather than pulling the head. | Hands behind thighs |
| Single Leg Stretch | 8 each side | Keep the abdominals hollow and pelvis steady. | Toe taps |
| Double Leg Stretch | 8 | Reach long without losing core connection. | Arms only |
| Spine Twist | 8 each side | Grow taller as you rotate. | Bent knees |
| Side-Lying Clam | 10 each side | Keep the pelvis stacked. | Smaller opening |
| Side Leg Lift Series | 8 lifts + circles | Lengthen through the leg before lifting. | Bottom knee bent |
| Swimming Prep | 8 each side | Reach long rather than high. | Arms only |
| Swan Prep | 8 | Lengthen through the crown of the head. | Small lift |
Cool-Down
| Exercise | Reps | Cues | Modifications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Child’s Pose | 5 breaths | Sit the hips back towards the heels and reach the fingertips forward. Breathe into the back and sides of the ribcage, allowing the spine to lengthen with each exhale. | Cushion under hips, Widen knees for comfort, If knee discomfort is present, remain seated upright and perform seated forward reach instead. |
| Mermaid Stretch | 3 breaths each side | Ground through the sitting bones. Reach the arm overhead and create length through the entire side body rather than collapsing into the stretch. | Sit cross-legged if side sitting is uncomfortable, Sit on a cushion or yoga block if hips are tight. |
| Supine Spine Twist | 5 each side | Allow both shoulders to remain heavy on the mat as the knees move across. Rotate from the waist while keeping the breath smooth and relaxed. | Keep feet on the floor and perform a smaller rotation, Place a cushion between knees. |
| Hamstring Stretch | 2 breaths each side | Extend one leg towards the ceiling. Hold behind the thigh or calf and gently draw the leg towards you while keeping the pelvis neutral. | Bend the stretching leg, Use a resistance band or towel. |
| Final Breathing & Body Scan | 5–6 breaths | Close the eyes if comfortable. Notice the connection between breath, posture and movement. Inhale into the ribs, exhale and allow the body to soften into the mat. | Head supported with cushion, Knees bent if lower back discomfort is present. |
